No, seriously, Whoopi Goldberg, who in the press release is described as a "long-time NHL fan" (really?) is going to be a guest on the first episode of the second season.“I am looking forward to another season of talking to our fans and our guests on The NHL Hour," Commissioner Bettman said. "Last year was a lot of fun. There was a lot of terrific conversation, and Whoopi Goldberg's appearance Thursday will add an interesting dimension to our first show of 2008-09."
I listened to every episode from last year and I have to admit, I did enjoy the show. It wasn't an hour of completely puffing up the NHL like I originally had perceived the show as going to be. There were some interesting interviews, like the one with International Ice Hockey Federation president Rene Fasel.
As far as Goldberg, outside of her narrating the 2003 New Jersey Devils Stanley Cup video, I don't recall seeing her in pictures at any NHL games.
That could also be because I may have skipped over her for shots of Lauren Conrad, Elisha Cuthbert, or any other female much more attractive than Ms. Goldberg.

First Def Leppard and now Whoopi... when do tickets for the Night Ranger concert before the All-Star Game go on sale?
I have actually seen Whoopi Goldberg at an NHL game. She was at many of the Devils home playoff games back in 2003. I also saw her get upand leave after the second period during some of those games.
Agreed JKR...she indeed did.
Now guys...if anyone starts humming Sister Christian...then I won't be surprised. Nice one indeed Sean.
I'm so glad he's doing the radio show again this season. There was so much information that came out of it. And he was wonderful with the fans and with his guests as well. Listening to him live, his true personality really shines. He's really a very funny, bright man.
